Video to text

Read what was said in a video recording. Upload the file, review the transcript and find the passage you need without replaying the entire video.

    Start with your recording

Useful for recorded lessons, webinars and screen recordings. Transcript Guru processes the audio track, so a silent video cannot produce a speech transcript.

    Transcribe audio or video

AI transcription uses credits on eligible paid plans. If a recording trial is available for your account, its allowance appears before you start. Review the quote before confirming.

From a video file to a usable transcript

    1. Choose the final version of your video. If you edit it afterwards, the transcript’s timestamps may no longer match.
    2. Upload the file, choose the spoken language or auto-detect, and review the credit estimate. A video file is transcribed from its audio track.
    3. Search the result for the passage you need. Replay it to check names, numbers and instructions before copying it into a document.

Speech, screen text and subtitles are different

A tutorial may show a command or a diagram without reading it aloud. Speech transcription will not necessarily include that information. Keep the video beside your notes and add important visual context yourself. For subtitles, choose a timed export and review where each caption appears; a reading document does not replace that timing check.

For a recorded software lesson, use the transcript to find where the instructor explains an error. Replay that passage to see the command on screen, then write your note with both the spoken explanation and the correct command.

    Use your transcript

Download timed subtitles for editing or a document for review. You can also generate a summary or ask questions about the transcript.
