Subscription Policies | Transcript Guru

Please review these policies carefully before subscribing to a paid plan. By subscribing, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.

1. Subscription Plans

Transcript Guru offers four tiers: Starter (free), Basic, Pro, and Enterprise. Each plan includes a monthly credit allocation and access to specific features as described on our Pricing page.

Paid plans are available in monthly and annual billing cycles. Annual plans receive a 20% discount on the equivalent monthly rate. Prices are listed in USD, GBP, and EUR. The currency is selected automatically based on your location or payment method.

2. Auto-Renewal

2.1 Monthly Plans

Monthly subscriptions auto-renew on the same date each month. Your payment method on file is charged automatically at the start of each billing cycle. You may cancel at any time to stop future renewals.

2.2 Annual Plans

Annual subscriptions auto-renew once per year on the anniversary of your original purchase date. You will receive an email reminder 7 days before renewal. You may cancel at any time to prevent the next annual charge.

3. Credits and Tokens

3.1 Plan Credits

Each paid plan includes a monthly credit allocation. Credits are refreshed at the start of each billing cycle. For the Starter (free) plan, unused credits do not roll over. For Basic, Pro, and Enterprise plans, unused credits roll over as long as your subscription remains active, up to a maximum balance of 3x your monthly allocation (e.g., 6,000 for Basic, 15,000 for Pro, 45,000 for Enterprise).

3.2 Referral Credits

Credits earned through the referral program never expire and are retained even if you downgrade to the free plan.

3.3 Top-Up Credits

Additional credits can be purchased as one-time top-ups. Top-up credits do not expire while your paid plan is active. If you downgrade to the free plan, top-up credits remain in your account but cannot be replenished without an active paid subscription.

3.4 Credit Deductions

Credits are consumed when you extract transcripts, generate AI content (summaries, mind maps, chat, etc.), or use other credit-based features. The cost of each operation is displayed before you confirm. If an operation fails, reserved credits are automatically refunded to your account immediately.

3.5 Non-Transferable

Credits cannot be transferred between accounts, converted to cash, or resold.

4. Upgrades

You may upgrade your plan at any time from the Billing page in your dashboard.

Upgrades take effect immediately.
You receive the new plan's credit allocation and features right away.
Your remaining balance from the current billing period is prorated and applied as a credit toward the new plan's price.
If upgrading from monthly to annual, the prorated credit from your current month applies to the annual price.

5. Downgrades

You may downgrade your plan at any time. Downgrades work as follows:

Your current plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.
After the billing period ends, your account reverts to the lower plan.
Unused plan credits from the higher tier do not carry over after downgrade.
Referral credits and top-up credits are retained.
Features exclusive to the higher plan become unavailable after downgrade.
Your data (transcripts, history, settings) is fully preserved.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page in your dashboard. Upon cancellation:

No cancellation fee is charged.
Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.
After the period ends, your account reverts to the Starter (free) plan.
All your data (transcripts, history, referrals, settings) is preserved.
You may resubscribe at any time to restore paid features.

7. Failed Payments

If a renewal payment fails due to insufficient funds, expired card, or other payment issues:

We will attempt to charge your payment method up to 3 times over 7 days.
You will receive an email notification on each failed attempt.
If all attempts fail, your account reverts to the Starter (free) plan at the end of the current billing period.
Your data is preserved. You can update your payment method and resubscribe at any time.

8. Refunds

Our full refund policy is available on the Refund Policy page. Key points:

All sales are final. Transcript Guru products are digital and delivered instantly. We do not issue refunds once the service has been delivered.
24-hour exception: Refunds may be requested within 24 hours of the first payment only, and only for verified platform errors or duplicate charges.
Renewals: Renewal charges are non-refundable. Cancel before your renewal date to prevent future charges.
Top-up credits: Non-refundable once added to your account.
Promotional pricing: Non-refundable under any circumstances.
Failed extractions: Credits are automatically refunded to your account immediately.

9. Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. If we increase prices:

We will provide at least 30 days' written notice via email.
Your current billing cycle completes at the existing rate.
The new price takes effect at your next renewal.
If you do not agree with the new pricing, you may cancel before the renewal date.

10. Payment Methods

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and other payment methods supported by Stripe in your region. We do not store your full card details on our servers.

11. Support Response Time

For billing inquiries, subscription changes, or refund requests, contact us at [email protected]. We aim to respond to all billing-related inquiries within 12 business hours.

12. Data Retention

If you cancel your subscription or your account reverts to the free plan:

All your transcripts, extraction history, and settings are preserved indefinitely.
AI-generated content (summaries, mind maps, etc.) remains accessible.
You may export your data at any time from your dashboard.
If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.
